Quick question before I go buying

how would this read.

If I want a domain of:

city-widgetsource.com

Will a search engine read it as such or will it find

city-widgetsource.com out of the URL instead?

I am hoping it does in this case because that bolded portion are the keywords im shooting for.

Also, Would the same thing work for citywidgetsource.com?

Would the engines pick-up citywidgetsource.com
like i'm hoping?

Ok.

I found a slightly different domain name

citywidgetsguide.com

with "city + widgets" being the ideal keywords. They are solid words too for my market area.

Does the "guide" even factor in this case? I mean "world" is sorta in a different ballpark than webmaster, right?

Basically, should I get this domain name and make it work?

Of course optimization will factor in but i'm just talking about the domain name in a perfect world.

Well, domians just aren't that important anymore in terms of seo, especially in Google. If you have multiple kewords together whether there is a dash or no, the engines should read all keyword combos.
