Hi, I have a .org domain name (www.rob****.org)I would like deleted/de-register from database. It is live now and will expire in 2005, but I want to delete/de-register now as I'm not using it. I dont want to keep it, and the domain name has no value. It was registered with Doteasy. Could someone let me know the procedure. Thanks in advance

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, walesrob.

It should be no problem - just contact your domain registrar and they will sort it out for you. However, you get no refund for deleted domains, so there is little advantage in deregistering.

And before you "de-register" it or let it expire, you better be really really sure you don't want it anymore, because it will probably become a porn site within a day or so (possibly even hours) of its expiration.

Thanks for the prompt replies. Doteasy have a policy of not allowing domain name deletions unless its really really important. So I decided to let it expire next year - seems a lot less hassle.

Thanks again for the quick replies, and keep up the good work on this great forum.

why not just direct the name to a site for sale page? Couldn't hurt.
