I found a very nice 2 words spanish domain name. The site is dead but it's in 5 position for Google and is listed on Yahoo. The site name is in the tourism market. How much is something like this worth?

The domain record expires in 1 week. I can't contact the domain holder as is not a person but a domain register company. How can I register or what register should I use once the record expires to make sure I win?

Thanks!

I can tell you that any domain name is worth what someone will pay for it. No more and no less. This being said there are obviously attributes of particular names that make them more or less valuable with built in traffic, SE ranking and link popularity being some positives.

There is nothing you can do (yet) to maake sure you get this name. What I would suggest doing is to contact the registrar about this name. Depending on their policies they may offer to sell you the name. There have been circumstances where a registrant of a domain name incurred a chargeback for a name they registered through us and after contacting them numerous times and having them to refuse to pay for the name, we have sold it to recupurate the oustanding balance owed on the name. Although we do not do this as rule, I would be glad to help you contact the registrar if you need the help.

Pool.com does a decent drop catching job.

SnapNames.com works sometimes but not often anymore.

NameWinner.com can be used to add to your advantage.

Other registrars offer drop services but their stats are lousy.

If it's a very good domain chances are you won't win the game. Give it a try anyway.
