No where on the internet would any company show the world where you live or give out your phone number. I think this is incredibly wrong, and stops me wanting to buy domains. Is there any way to get of the who's database as I don't want the world knowing all my personal information ...
Thanks
We all have a lot invested in our web sites but we do not go round using comments like you have just done.
On another thread you started today you said someone threatened to kill you, now your threatening to kill someone yourself, "what's this all about"

Did I miss something here GaryK?
I think TRiley was concerned about his personal information being publicized. I don't think anyone threatened him.
I didn't know you could make that registration info private. It's never concerned me before. But that is obviously a better option than supplying false information.
BTW, just to clarify the messages I deleted... my comments were based on the assumption that this person was at my door doing something to threaten my life. In that case my reaction would be considered self-defense.
Again, sorry for disrupting this thread. Please accept my apologies.
I do hope your not talking about me as that certainly isn't the case. I'm asking for information on why all my information is in the whois database and if theres any steps to get it removed. I bought by domain from 1&1 and its a .com. Anyway to get my information removed as I don't see why (specially with it being a personal site), that it should be open for the world to see.
Thank you
Edit: oh, and I'm not being threatened or anything and have had the domain since July so am not worried to much, but now I've found this forum I'd thought I'd ask.
