Im sure there are many good books on CSS around but I bought "Stylin' with CSS" A designer's Guide written by Charles Wyke-Smith.

There are very good code examples which are fully explained in a format that suits novices like me and yourself.

You can also access the examples from the book online and drop them into your designs, BUT I would try and get a good understanding of what they are saying rather than just copy/paste.

While Ive found the book quite helpful there are many good guys in this forum who can offer very good advice too.

Good luck,
Alan

I've bought many books on CSS.

But, what always happens is that when I hit a problem it is simply so much easier to do a search for the answer than look it up in any of the books!

I stopped buying books a few years ago, now I get the answers for free online!

At the beginning, you need to learn the basics of css, the theory, which you can learn at "the place to learn css".
[google.ro...]

Afterwards, you can search for the specific hacks on the internet.

Also a great written reference is - John Wiley and Sons CSS Hacks and Filters (May 2005), it's great because it gives you examples and print-screens at every little step.

Good luck with learning!

Cheers,
Mihai

I think 'CSS Mastery' by Andy Budd has helped me more than any other.

There is a free download of one of the chapters at:

[cssmastery.com...]

He tells it how it is, cross browser problems, hacks and all.

Regards.
Chris.
