safari bug with bg position

Background offset from left has the end of it showing

i've got a table with the following css:

.bg {
background: url(../images/bannerleft.jpg) no-repeat 60px bottom;

the image is very wide (about 2000 px i think) and is supposed to start 60 px from the left and continue to the end of the page. in safari, instead of that 60px-margin being white, the right edge of the image shows up. why?

What Safari version are you looking at it on? There was a bug something like this in the early Safari builds, but it has been fixed for a long time.

1.3 v312? is that old? it's my work computer and i just started here a month ago, it seems like everything is up-to-date, i haven't used safari before tho so i don't know. that would suck tho because if they are using it here, our users might have the same version. doh!

no, 1.0 is old and had the bug. It was fixed in 1.2 I think.

I use CSS image sprites all the time, which is sort of similar and have never had an issue with background positioning in Safari 1.3 or 2.0.

Could you post some code perhaps for us to take a look at? Enough to show the problem?
