acceptable forms of background-image

Hello all. Just a stupid question I've been pondering. Are any video formats acceptable as sources for the background-image in CSS? Any help on this would be appreciated. I've played around with the code but seem to come up with nothing. I was just wondering!

It has to be still images, preferably GIF, JPEG or PNG. And though I've never tested it, I drought animated GIFs will only display at a still image.

Just tested it. Animated gifs display as animated gifs when set as background-images. :)

Animated gifs definitely work for background images - I've been using this approach this for years to create interesting hover effects. Opera 6 did not support animated background images, but other than that, all is well.
