The aim of the site is to present the exact same content in a variety of different CSS presentations as a way of demonstrating what CSS is capable of doing. Using the same content removes any subconscious or subjective bias that might occur if the viewer doesn't agree with the content. Instead, a viewer can draw objective conclusions as to the strengths and weaknesses of the designs.
What you are perceiving to be a "shift" in text is nothing more than a completely different CSS layout design.
