Lots of food for thought in this article...

Goodbye JavaScript: Introducing our CSS API Client

At Algolia, we are always pushing the boundaries of search. Today is an important day for us as it marks the official release of our 11th API Client: the CSS API Client.

CSS is an awesome language. It only takes you a few years of practice to be able to style a minimalist website in a matter of days....

Might be a wake up for the js kiddies who use it to style web presentations, :)

I'd like to see a much leaner JS come our of this eye-opener. Bloat is freakin' bloat, no matter what kind. Remember Shockwave and that other absurdity? Flash? for laying out websites? For "interactive" purposes.

I use a lot of CSS. I use a lot of JS.

I use JS to serve ads & announcements. All my scritping is home grown & minified; fast & cashed for my repeat site visitors.

lucy,, when you have timeless truisms like this, the exact date doesn't matter. It's the spirit of the season that counts.

We are so confident in the quality of this release, that it will work flawlessly, everywhere, every time, and that there will never be any bugs, that we decided it’s no longer necessary to offer support for it. This shows how committed we are.
