Menu Bar Borked On Phones (bootstrap)

Any thoughts on why my menu bar is all borked up when viewing on phones (and possibly on tablets)?

Seems fine on desktop, but on phones, the black menu bar seems to cover half of the "hero image" photo at the top of the page.

Darn... just realized that the bootstrap them I based this on does that too in the original version:

[blackrockdigital.github.io...]

Looks like they use an image with a significant amount of "headroom" so that it doesn't matter so much if it gets cut off...
