Fixed mouse over popup on image map

Fixed mouse over popup on image map with link to another page on click

Hello all,

So I have an image map and I would like the hotspots when hovered over to display another image in a fixed location and then disappear when the curser leaves the hotspot(the image map itself does not change) while also linking to another page when clicked.

Is there a way of achieving this? Css would be preferable but I'm assuming that javascript will be required.......I'm a bit of a newb.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah you'll likely have to resort to Javascript, and the Jquery library will make it much easier to do. recently discussed [webmasterworld.com]. May not be the exact same conditions but should get you there.
