I'm trying to create a barbershop website for a friend, I am in no way a "web developer/designer" but I did sleep in a holiday inn last night...basically I just googled a couple of css things and came up with the following site (which is still being developed):<snip>

I have several questions if someone would be kind enough to help. Here are my questions.

1.) Is there any good place to find free photos(stock images)? I'd love to find some high quality barber poles.

2.)How do I get the poles to be placed over the div(content area) in the center? I'd also like to place an image(red swirls) around the border (to make a frame out of it) of the div, are there any good tutorials on doing this.

Thanks in advance, I'm just putting all of this css stuff together and it's alot of fun it's just kind of difficult googling syntax everytime I need something, hopefully one day all of this will be easier for me. Thanks in advance and don't laugh at my desgign..lol I'm also up for recommendations :) that would be cool. Thanks!

Also, is there a place to find stock images that have already been cut from their original source, I'm ot sure what the terminology is but it seems as if there would be a place that allowed you to download single images. Thanks in advance.

1. Have you tried <snip> ?

2.

#divcenter {
left:50%;
top:50%;
margin-left:###px; (width of image /2)
margin-top:###px; (height of image /2)
}

<div id="divcenter">content here</div>

I hope it's helpfull

Just google stock images and you'll get lots of choices. Should be no problem to find something that works. Quality and price will vary. Depending upon the budge, you can set up your own photoshoot or bring in a graphic designer.

There have been specific suggestions and lists of same posted on WebmasterWorld many times. Search:
