Hello all, this is my first post so please be gentle !

I'm having a nightmare with css on a site, which is giving spurious results in FF and Chrome.

The site is here: <snip>

Can anyone help please?

You seem to say that you designed itin IE, let's assume that's a legacy version of IE (not IE8).

I'm afraid you'll have to redo the work ina standards compliant browser without looking at it in IE. Then at the end add what you need for making IE behave itself in a conditional comment and you're done.

Working from whatever IE set you on the wrong foot towards having what you seek in a standards compliant browser without it breaking in IE again is very hard in my experience (which is limited as I learned the other way is far easier).
