2. CSS3 Validation

The CSS Validator [jigsaw.w3.org] at w3.org is evolving as well, currently it supports validating against CSS2.1 as well as CSS3 (More Options > Profile). The default -rightfully- is CSS2.1 and it will bark if it sees CSS3.

This is a fairly recent change in behavior for the validator, though we're not sure exactly when it started, it's nonetheless very good to know it's there.

While writing this guide the behavior even changed slightly a few times, so be ready for some changes as you go.
