IE6: Microsoft offers free (time-bombed) virtual PC images that contain XP SP3+IE6 IE7 or IE8. Virtual PC for windows is also free.

To get even older IE versions you could locate a NT cdrom or so and install that on a virtual machine.
IE5.x for the mac: died off, no (legal) copies to be found anymore AFAIK, nor is anybody using it anymore either.

<snicker> Got a G3 here I use for "acid tests" on IE5/Mac. :-) Is distro of this old dinosaur illegal in some way or just that everyone's saying "whew, good thing it's gone" (like NN4 . . . which I also have in both PC and Mac!)
As macs get upgraded to Tiger (OS X 10.4) or more recent; or the hardware becomes powered by an Intel CPU; there really isn't much room left for the monster that IE for mac was. So I'd consider it just like NN4: let's forget it.
Redistributing software owned by others, even after they don't distribute it themselves anymore is risky business.
