Can I have background picture whichi is repeating from left to right and in the same time gets more and more transparency, so on the left side you see 0% transparency but on the right 100% transparency ?

Yes you can. just use a png. and if you need it to work in IE there is hack that requires an HTC file. Just do a google search for it there are several out there. However these IE fixes only work with repeating backgrounds. IE will only position a non-repeating transparent png background to the top left and no where else.

Firefox will work with out any fixes or hacks. just set the PNG as your background image and you are good to go in Firefox, Opera and Safari.
