I was searching online how to align my list without a margin because it always worked fine on IE but never in Firefox. I just wanted to thank the person who had posted a long time ago (it was too old to reply to) that mentioned the asterix trick by setting asterix to have no margins or padding.

lists indeed have different defaults in different browsers. If you want to grab control over it, resetting them is what is needed.

You could reset the padding and margins of <li>, <ul>, <ol> etc. or just as you found by resetting them on all elements. I found that starting a new layout, it's easiest to start off with a reset of all padding and margins, but if you have an existing layout, it can have unexpected resets to add a very broad reset.

Anyway, thanks for taking the trouble to read up the older posts and find the solution you needed and then taking the trouble to thank "us" (whoever was involved at the time).
