Print media - font size and MSIE's "shrink to fit"

tiny font size on print-outs - how to set a minimum?

I have a bunch of articles for which I just created a print stylesheet, and it's happy and okay in Firefox.

MSIE on the other hand insists on defaulting to its "shrink to fit" size option, which is fine and obviously does all sorts of fancy stuff which I don't have a problem with. Like shrinking hi-res images to fit on the page without being cropped off the right hand side.

But it screws up the font sizes. In the print stylesheet, I am specifying a font size of 10pt for all the content text. MSIE tends, depending on the article (they all use the same CSS but vary in length), to make the all text (including headers etc) so tiny it is ridiculous, it seems to be something less than 50%.

Is there some way to specify a "minimum" font size? Another fix? Google did not help me.

In my experience there 's a big difference how IE6 and IE7 handle printing.
Which version is doing this (I've not seen that behavior)?
Got any sample minimal code that triggers it ?
