change the image of the scrollbar & prevent horizontal scrollbar

1- Im working on this website and Id like to know what should i do in order to customize my scroll bar using css.

2- On the other hand im also having a problem with my text panel, because it works good on FF but in IE it shows an horizontal scrollbar when i type more characters than it can hold in a line, but this shoudnt happen, it should just jump to the second line up to the maximun amount of lines the current height supports and then show a vertical scroll but well it displays an horizontal one, it never jumps lines. I really need some help to work this out:(

this is probably a dopey answer, but when you type out all these characters, are you putting spaces in between them? because i know firefox stretches out the box if you just put one endless line of letters
