No body background image in Firefox

No body background image in Firefox

I just migrated to xhtml with proper MIME and now the background image fails to display in Firefox... in all other browsers, the image still appears as before.

... I just can't figure out what the problem is... any suggestions?

Only thing I can think of is that FF is somehow misinterpreting the target of your link. Have you tried url(./img/background.gif)?
