Full image not showing until menu activated

Dear all,
I'm new to DHTML & CSS and trying to learn them by example. I've hacked the CSS from various other sites and am trying to pull it together into a style I want to display but have a problem with an image not displaying in full until a menu option is activated. I haven't included any code here as the total is 176k (including the image of 23k). I have one html page and then lots of SSI includes, javascript and CSS files.
I have replicated the CSS stylesheet links in the html source (and added to them) when trying to resolve the problem but these won't affect things (belt & braces).

Please note that I'm posting this from work but I can't replicate the problem here as I can't install IIS nor SSI - I have done at home though and will reply from home after trying any suggested solutions.
You will need the files in order to see it for yourself so please tell me how to post them here or get them to you.

Hi Dave,

Due to this site's TOS you basically have to provide a test case for us to work with. If you can't we really won't be able to help you in any meaningful way.

As far as working with images I would ask a mod if it's ok to say maybe use the WebmasterWorld logo in place of your local image since it technically doesn't make reference to any third party but I would not assume either way.
