Im new to CSS like really new and want to do some reading and learning on how to better understand how to make table without using an HTML editor. I am setting up photo pages for my wife and would like to hard code what i need and can in css to help the pages look b etter and ld faster. I am presently reading CSS by example and speeding uo your website. Any suggestions would be great. Pat

Welcome to Webmaster World kysmiley. The more I learn about CSS the more I like it, and probably you will too. This tutorial listed in the "library" at the top of this forum, is a great place to start.

Personally, I prefer HTML-Kit, by Chami as my editor. It is available as a free download.

I found "Eric Meyer On CSS" ISBN 0-7357-1245-X to be a good intro to table-free design.

Also, "Cascading Style Sheets 2.0 Programmer's Reference" ISBN 0-07-213178-0 is a handy quick reference.

I recommend Mulder's Stylesheet Tutorial [hotwired.lycos.com]. That's where I learnt the basics of CSS.
