One of my webpages containing thumbnail pictures which are web optimized takes over 300 second to download over a 56k modem. I have DSL but my auidience has 56k connection. Can CSS help me show these quicker than having to load each of the 12 thumbnail? If so, could someone explain the code to me? I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how CSS works straight out, but it doesn't come as quickly as HTML. any help help would be good. Please and Thank you.

Although it can be used to optimize other aspects of your web site, CSS is not going to make your thumbnails load faster. How large are your thumbnails? In my experience you should be able to get them down to about 10KB each which is only 120KB total for your thumbnails. How much is your code in total KB?

the thing is i haven't made seperate thumbnails they're the original image...my goal is to accomplish something like this <<snip>> whereas I have something like this <<snip>> if i could replicate the exact layout without getting confused, my site would look better and i would be able to show thumbnails for every picture. Each main picture is less than 100kb. take a look at my site (the second one) and see if you could answer my question.

Hi TCC_OnlineAdmin, welcome to WebmasterWorld.

To make the page load faster you will need to make thumbnails and optimise them down to the smallest size possible without losing too much detail.

CSS won't help load a large file faster.
