Massive improvement, have y'all seen it [lockergnome.com]?

I think it qualifies for pure css layout? No tables in sight!

Very, very nice.

'bout time some of the bigger tech sites (hint hint) started setting the standard ;)

looks great.

Good in 7.21 opera, a bit messy on fast scrolls on IE 5.

Check out the movable side column (the color control is obvious).
You can put it on the left or the right and somehow it remembers it all without cookies (I have cookies blocked). How did they do *that*!

(wait a sec they somehow did write a cookie and I am not allowing that, hmm)

And for those that are forgetting quickly, before shot [web.archive.org]

Wow, huge change!

Especially since some of those sites could be made to degrade very gracefully. It would be very encouraging to see certain places step out of the deep dark past.

Not for me it doesn't. But a brilliant demonstration of CSS. And I do like the use of alternate style sheets.

And, ignoring the fact that they provide three different color schemes, the page size is now 75% of what it was before (including CSS and image files) :)

I think they're using some scripts to help the layout too. I didnt look too far into it, but it threw a javascript error about length not being defined (not in a common browser mind u..)

They're using Javascript to control the alternate style sheets (and keep the choice in a cookie). This means, of course, that alternate style sheets will work in IE.

The reason my choice was not kept in a cookie was that I used my browser to change style sheet. I didn't see the buttons.

Nice. I like the way you can change the layout from left menu to right menu.

change the layout from left menu to right menu

I tried and nothing happened. I used Firebird 0.7. What to pull from where?
*feels ashamed*

Try using the theme-button in the left corner of the statusbar to change to the "sidebar swapped" stylesheet.
