Best CSS Three Column Layout with Header & "Footer"

Should I convert my page, and if so, which code is the best?

Hello,

I was thinking of converting my page (which has a 3 column layout along with a header and a footer) to css. What are the advantages/disadvantages?

I went thorugh a lot of posts in this forum, but have not been able to come to a conclusion as to which is the best and the most final pick-and-use code. Could someone please help me out on this one. (I have noticed that adding a footer is a problem in using this code, is that right)

I'd like the spider to read (in div order) center, header, left, right, footer (hoping that Google doesn't consider this as spam). Could that be integrated in the code. I am not too expert with css stuff.

Some of the posts/pages which I was reading (but couldn't come a final conclusion) are
1) [webmasterworld.com...]
2) [webmasterworld.com...]
3) [webmasterworld.com...]
4) http://www.realworldstyle.com/nn4_3col_header.html - I like this, but I don't like the fact that if someone resizes the window in NN4, the script will reload the whole page again. This would cause extra bandwidth, and the third party banner advertising company won't like this reloading of pages, which makes the advertisements to reload unnecessarily.

Thanks.

P.S. What is the % of people using NN4, and will this 3 column layout work in all browsers?

Hey Imaster,

NN4 is running at about 2%, although it does depend on the type of site you are running and your audience. It also is a bit of a no-go area where these fluid 3-column layouts are concerned.
