If you've filed a DMCA complaint with google, did you go by the format they have online or did you use another type of letter to file the complaint?

We're looking to pursue a site who used our content in a newsletter, then archived the same content online..

For those who used another type of formula for the complaint, i'd appreciate stickies on finding that material...

Thanks in advance...

I use their format -- is there a particular reason you see value to not using their format?

Sorry, should've explained that -- I'd read previous threads here & a site that had DCMA sample letters for both sides of the problem was mentioned...

I'm sending the complaint from Europe & was concerned about not doing it right...

What was your turn around time like?

About four weeks to get the notice that the material has been removed and another several days to a week to see the sites actually removed.

When completing the form, do be sure to list EVERY page that is infringing on your work.

Different ISPs/SEs have different formats for the complaints. I strongly recommend using the format the specific party offers -- you don't want your complaint thrown out before it's reviewed just because you didn't file the information exactly as they required it.
