How not to write content for web based "short course"

I was reading a website that had a "short course" on widgets and check the manual I have for that widget.

To my surprise the text was almost exactly the same. They also had the cheek of putting a copyright notice on their site even though it had already been ripped off from another source.

I suspect the whole site was just an excuse to get advertising when people searched for a certain phrase.

Thanks.

There's a lot of content theft going on to support AdSense and affiliate advertising - it's easy to swipe a bunch of keyword-laden content, throw it onto a site, insert some PPC ads, and wait for the content to get SE referrals.

If you want to be a good citizen, you can report the apparent infringement to the firm that published the manual (who may or may not care).
