odd pdf problem

My client just sent me a pdf of a brochure they want to put online. The problem is that all the images are missing color - it feels like the images were done in 32 bit color and I'm viewing them at 256. The client sees it fine but I can't figure why it's messed up on my end.

Anybody seen this before?

problem is they don't have the original art so I have to take screenshots of the pdf.

Do you know what program they used to create it (Distiller, Acrobat PDF Printer Driver etc)? It could be options they have set on their end. I prefer to use the PDF Printer driver then open in Acrobat and set all my options etc.

it was created by a third party then sent to my client (who can see it fine) then simply forwarded on to me.

That's the long version of "No I don't know what they used to create it" :)

Don't know what to say. Have you taken a look at it on another system? I am assuming also that your acrobat reader is not sc%3$ed up and you can view other PDF files no problem? I would be happy to have a look at it if you (In Adobe Acrobat 5 and see what the settings are etc.) want to email it to me, I can sticky you my email address.

thanks for the offer but I just had a buddy open it (of course it worked for him) and send me a screenshot. I'm good for now but I guess at some point I'll have to figure out what's wrong with my puter :)

I would re-install the latest acrobat reader if thats what your using and hopefully that will cure ya :)
