Is there a difference/preference for the US English reader or could either sentence be used?

1. It’s also worthwhile checking to see if your moving firm’s policy includes damage to your premises.

2. It’s also worthwhile checking to see if your moving company’s policy includes damage to your premises.

TIA

It is also worthwhile to ensure that your moving company’s policy covers damages to your premises.

Neither ...
better would be ..."It is also worthwhile to ensure that your removal company’s policy covers damages to your premises"....

Don't encourage "RUMSFSPEAK"..!

We know that "movers" ..means "removal company"..

However "moving company" ..at first look seems more like somthing animated in your living room .. :))

Either could be used, although "company" is perhaps a bit more common usage than "firm". I wouldn't expect confusion either way, though.

Is it understood from context that the "policy" is an insurance policy? Otherwise it could have the amusing meaning that the moving firm's policy is to damage its customer's premises. ;)

How about, "Be sure that your moving company's insurance policy covers damage to your premises. If not, ..."

How about:

Verify that damages are covered by the moving company's insurance policy.

I suggest:
Be sure that the moving company agrees, in writing, to cover any damages to your premises.

It doesn't matter if it is there insurance or if the owner has to sell his dog to get the money, just that they will pay for any damages.
