First I have to Buy a Computer
Then I need to Buy a Cable Modem
Then I have to pay for Monthly services
Why Do I need to pay for my phone and TV when there all run by the same company They dont make it cheaper.
So by the end of it they're allready spending X amount, the rest is supposed to be free.
One one hand you have AOL wondering if they can still make money on their dial-up service because broadband has taken a lot of traffic away from them......
One the other hand you have these media articles saying that consumers wont pay that extra nickle for better service, or their happy with what they have, so broadband take a back seat.
Does anybody really know?
I am inclined to believe that John Q. Public is CHEAP. I see it my logs. Saturday' and Sunday's stats are always about 1/3 lower than the remaining week. As for Monday's they run off the charts most of the time.
I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out the CHEAP OLE John Q. Public would much rather use the BROADBAND connection at work than to use his dial-up at home.
So perhaps there is truth to this article. Employers beware!
