Assuming that a web site is informational--as opposed to commercial--in nature, which would be more appropriate?

TM seems far more universally used, even for things that look like services. However, I applied for a registered trademark related to a site that was largely informational and was advised by my attorney to use SM until the registration was approved. Since I paid for that advice, that's what I'm using. ;)

And who am I to argue with advice someone else has paid for! :)

Thanks.
