Do a google search for +"Widget 1234" +"NOT FOR BIG WIDGETS" and see how many results come up. How is the same review with the same exact (very specific) wording appearing on hundreds of different sites like that?

Hmmm...and the term "not for big widgets" appears nowhere in any of the many listed pages. Also every page has "1234567890" included in the various urls When "1234567890" is google searched it appears to be an amazon aff perhaps... So these seem to point to something being quite stinky indeed and perhaps manipulated and perhaps something foul is afoot!

The sites are all Amazon affiliates or those that ripped off the Amazon reviews.

Amazon affiliates
Yeah, I just figured that out. Another fine example of spam wrecking Google.

Too bad for Google. Maybe they should prevent this sort of stuff instead of putting out an easy to manipulate algo... :o

I wouldn't assume that these affiliates are spammers. You are looking at a VERY specific search that is likely to find a relatively small number of pages that all feature a specific title or ASIN number.
