Business location, map, phone, opening time and copyright

I'm wondering if compiling a list of business online with the basic info (phone, address, opening time, map, name etc) represents a copyright infringement.

The plan was also to give the chance to edit/remove each page but more I read more I think it can be illegal.

Any idea?

Thanks

Infringement of whose copyright where? Are you planning a list that uses the identical format and wording of someone else's previously published list? (Was going to add "in the same order", but you can hardly claim a copyright on the alphabet!)

You can't copyright information as such.

If your list includes links to businesses' web sites, you can be confident that someone, somewhere will run scared and demand removal.

Thanks for the answer,

I'm not planning to use the identical format at all.

When you said that if I include links to businesses' web sites someone will run scared you mean for reason related to SEO and inbound link? Or for copyright?

Thanks

The links issue that Lucy24 mentioned is probably because so many people are worried about the SEO effects of inbound links.

That wouldn't have anything to do with copyright.
