Hi,

I am not a medical professional or medical student.

However, over years I have developed plenty of interest in weight loss, health and general fitness related topics.

Now, If I want to start a health blog, is not being a medical professional a legal obstruction ? Or will a simple disclaimer of 'consult your doctor' as many blogs do will be good enough ? Who regulates the qualification of bloggers ?

Thanks,
KK

no-one regulates the qualifications of journalists either - in tv or print ... they are forever getting things wrong in areas i know about.

Wow, wouldn't the AMA love it if nobody but licensed physicians were allowed to speak on medical subjects...

For the largest part Google has been setting it up that way in Health with brands at least for 4-5 years. In other words many sites in those areas are almost frozen in top positions they decide to report on.
