Disney is an amazing example of autocatalysis... They had all those movies in the can, with the copyright ready. When the videocassette was invented it went boom.
Coke prospered when refrigeration came out.
Some of the goliath consumer brands that we know now got that fat when TV advertsing came out and only they could afford it. There was only a few channels that owned 99% of the audience. Nobody else could afford it.... widening the moat even further.
