hmm what happens when you get a dmca notice to remove a image from a site, was sent to a server Host by a lawyer, image is removed now, but what can happen after this or is it done with that which also sounds ok.

If things goes further whats the best way to react without big consequences

IANAL. My opinion: a request was sent, the request was completed. Done deal. Move on.

If the DMCA sender wants to pursue other issues (like damages for using the image), that's a separate issue.

hmm I think that would then also be written in the letter right or shall I say to the client dont worry that was it. I also told them if something extra comes, then talk to them maybe they could work together they are in same business somehow.

Just found this on wiki about DMCA :

The DMCA has been criticized for making it too easy for copyright owners to encourage website owners to take down allegedly infringing content and links which may in fact not be infringing. When website owners receive a takedown notice it is in their interest not to challenge it, even if it is not clear if infringement is taking place, because if the potentially infringing content is taken down the website will not be held liable. The Electronic Frontier Foundation senior IP attorney Fred von Lohmann has said this is one of the problems with the DMCA.[17]

As i understand if the images is taken down the same day there is no problem anymore, but I also see it like the example website owner dont have that much to say.
