Where do you go to find good U.S.A content writers? I'm looking for finance writers in particular. Most of the freelance sites these days seem to be people from other countries.

The American Society of Journalists and Authors allows you to post your requirements to their members via the site linked below. You will certainly find writers of a high calibre there (or one should hope so).
Of course there are sources such as craigslist, elance... Interestingly, Wikipedia offers a short list of business/finance journalists in the USA.
A quick search via your favourite search engine for 'financial writers' brings up no end of possibilities. It all depends what you mean by 'good'. :-)

I'm new, and was browsing. Thanks for the info about the Journalists Society. I always hear about elance & rentacoder, but I imagine these writers would be a bit higher caliber.
BTW Freelance.com has a lot of writers, too.

Try getafreelancer, though everywhere you'll find foreign writers also, you just have to spot them in the crowds. :)

I've heard Elance has a good number of American writers. However, an alternate, more painful way would be to browse through a lot of finance forums, find people with blogs and if you like their way of writing, making a direct proposal for them to write for you.

Ah, I forgot, also search on #*$! forums, there are a lot of writers there, though I quite have no idea whether they are quality ones. :)

There are a lot of American/US-based content writers. I'm a California-based content writer and network with finance/other writers through freelance writing sites.
All you have to do is do a Google search for "freelance writer rates" (That's how I started networking with them).

The best way of getting good writers, is by posting your requirement on job search engines, since they ensure you get professionals, and you are not fooled by unprofessional candidates.

@imbckagn, try writer Groups on Linkedin. You will find a whole bunch out there. You should be able to pre-qualify the vendors before you sign up.

Check with your contacts too. I only take freelance jobs through people I already know or have connections with in some way. I've picked up a decent amount of writing jobs through my contacts in this manner.

Thanks for all the feedback I found a decent writer on Elance. It's not as easy as I thought it would be to find an experienced well qualified finance writer. The search continues...
