Worry about Scrapers using "your" Social Bookmarking Code?

Are my concerns overblown?

Thinking of using addthis.com sharing code on a site (in development)and am paranoid someone will scrape my site and get bookmarked with "my" code. When this site is launched it obviously won't be crawled as frequently as a content thieves site.

I saw 2 methods of social bookmarking... One where you choose what services you think your visitors will use which all have individual links that have my domain in them.

The 2nd method I see uses an aggregate service. I chose this for a wider reach but the code as far as I can see isn't domain specific.

I suppose I could use the 1st method I described until my site gets established but I was really interested to see whether other webmasters shared my concern.

I don't think it should be a problem for you but it is good to hope for the best and plan for the worst.

The ref code you see in AT is for your reporting uses only.

If another domain copies your content and also the widget, and someone clicks on it, they are just bookmarking the page in exactly the same way as they could using that same widget programmed with somebody else's ref code.

It all just comes down to duplicate content and filters...
