Hi
I have created a website for a client, he has now decided after 8 months to go with an alternative web developer due to not understanding web site need promoting. Never the less i dont have an issue with this, what i dont like is the web developer has copied what i have done and pasted it onto his server adn created a new domain name. Is this not copyright? Can i ask him to take this down?

It would depend on whether or not your agreement with the client included your retaining the intellectual copyright to what you did for him.

Personally my T and Cs state that after my client have paid the final instalment then the IP rights are theirs.

that sounds like an issue between your ex-client and their new developer.

Was anything agreed as part of the contract between you and the client?

I would like to know whether you sold the copyright of the content or not. If you have already sold your copyright to the client, you cannot ask him to take it down
