What is the proper way to re-distribute a press release? Can I publish the release as is or do I need to re-write the release?

Yes, you can publish it unchanged. If you change it or use parts of it in your article, put your signature and refer to original press release.

Yes, you can publish it as is if you wish. I have released my own press releases before and most of the papers or sources that pick them up just reprint the release as I sent it without my header that has my name and contact info that is common on most releases. Outside of that it is pretty much word for word, which is what I want.
