I sell 3 main products, widget1, widget2, and widget3... two different manufacturers provide me with widget1. so far, i have written 4 pages of content about widget1 in general, with more widget1 content to come specifically targetting the manufacturers and their differences of product line, design, and company history.
the pages are titled "about widget1", each page is roughly 250-275 words in length, and at the bottom of each page i have "...next page" and "...previous page" where applicable.
My question is, where do i put these content pages i have written (link from bottom of homepage? from bottom of each manufacturer page?)and where should they point to? (i.e. homepage, each of the manufacturer pages?) I plan on continually adding information via text/keyword rich pages, so i want to know the optimal location to put this stuff.
With your small amount of content right now, I'd lean toward starting a structure based around your three widgets as major topics. I'm assuming you think people will be searching using phrases involving "widget1", for example. If people will be searching more for manufacturer names, then you might choose to build your structure around their names. Note that you can have multiple navigation structures to accommodate different visitors. For example, if you had three widget types from four suppliers, you could have home page links to three widget sections as well as four manufacturer pages.
I. widget1 (product)
A. widget1-a (product manufacturer 1)
1. widget1-a item1 (describe each item by manf 1)
a. widget1-a, item1, project1
im selling woodworking widgets, so while i may run out of widgets, the actual projects the widgets are used for are fairly plentiful.
