Duplicate content in blogs

I've landed in an absolute mess!
I had previously had a blog hoisted in a blogging platform which suddenly stopped providing services. I decided to #*$! my blog at another platform and reposted some of my previous posts in the new one.
Additionally I deleted the previous blog to avoid duplicate content problems.

My new blog has not yet been cached and as I checked the Copyscape, it shows the url of my previous blog to have duplicate contents. I'm at a loss! That means, the cache copy of my previous blog are still in Google index!

Is there is any chance of my new blog getting penalized due to duplicate content factor?
What should I do in this case? Please suggest. Need urgent help.

I wouldnt worry yourself too much about this, when the bots come back and see the pages gone a couple of times the old blog will be deindexed. Or to speed this up go to WMT and remove the old URL's from their index.

If you control the page you can 301 redirect the old blog to the new one.
