I've published a couple of music videos from Youtube in my WordPress blog. I'm using the embed option, which basically just embeds an IFRAME in my blog and shows the video from Youtube/Google servers, so I'm not hosting the video. Am I guilty of copyright infrindgement, if the copyright owner hasn't given Youtube the right to show her/his video?

I've understood that Youtube is ready to remove all copyrighted videos when asked. Does this mean that if the video is in Youtube and there is the embed option, I'm free to show the video on my site?

Edit: In fact Youtube videos aren't embedded using IFRAMEs, but for example Google maps are.
So the questions reman!

You are responsible for what you choose publish on your site.

The original publisher of the iframe content is also responsible - but that does not get you off the hook.

Copyright law looks at the fact of publication, not the method.

The problem is that YouTube doesn't get asked that much, so it's still chuck full of copyrighted material.

You can't assume that just because it's still there, it's been vetted. It just means hat YT hasn't been asked yet.
