Copyright infringement on a Chinese website

Does anyone have any tips or pointers when dealing with copyright theft on a Chinese website?

Are Chinese ISP's (in our case, we would be dealing with an ISP in Hong Kong which appears to communicate in both English and Chinese) responsive to DMCA (or its equivalent in China) complaints?

Has anyone here had any success with a copyright complaint against Chinese a website?

Thanks

Up to now, the China government has shown little interest in enforcing copyright, or any other foreign owned rights, or, thinking about it, any rights whatsoever.

A large corporation with trade deals may have some clout ... individuals and small businesses, historically, are left to whistle Dixie.

What you may be able to do is get Google to drop the listing, which may help.

If the site is a proxy site, it will have a fairly short life, so don't sweat it (and don't link to it!).

Thanks Quadrille.

I was afraid of that, having a gut feeling that China cares next to nothing about copyright.

Great idea about contacting Google about the listing.
