It is now almost a year since I received a letter from a legal company representing Corbis. This came with an invoice for almost £2400 for the use of a shopping cart image they found on my website. Corbis and Getty have been sending out thousands of these claims to people Worldwide many of whom purchased the images from third parties.

I think it would be useful to provide some feedback and to see how some of the many others that were affected by this are getting on.

This is the original thread.

In my own case it will be one year at the beginning of December since they sent their original claim. I responded with a lawyer's letter at the beginning of January and I have heard nothing since.

It must be getting on for two years since this process started. Has anyone else got anything to report on this? Is there any information about anyone being taken to court yet?
