Hello guys,

I'm looking for Weather XML web service with worldwide data available. I also need lattitude and longitude info available.

Also, I'd really like to have feature I'll describe now. I have Google Maps on my site and I'd like to receive data for all locations that are in current Google Maps coordinates (for example, longitude from 44 to 44.5 and lattitude from 7 to 8.22).

OR

I'd like to download names of all available locations for some Weather XML service to grab them into small database later.

I wonder do you know such service(s)? Is it possible to do things I described?

Yes, it is possible to do what you want to do. Try with Weather Channel, they have a xoap service and provide xml's with lat's long's and all the weather information of cities all around the world.

Thanks. Could you PM url address of XML/XOAP section of their site please. I've tried to find it using Google and their site, but I can't (I found only service for local websites without using XML).

Still can't find XML service on their site. I feel like crazy. I know they have such service, but can't find it.

There are a number of free, open-source programs that fetch this data.

You can probably find information on the support sites for these programs. In the worst case, you could just download the source code and examine it.

I use the LiquidWeather++ plugin for SuperKaramba myself. SuperKaramba is a free, open-source desktop-widgets program for Linux.)

LiquidWeather++ is written in Python, as are all SuperKaramba widgets.

Sorry, I forgot about this thread. In case you're still interested, the url for suscribing is [weather.com...]

You can get xml feeds by using the next url (replacing some values)

[xoap.weather.com...]

NLXX0002 - ID of the city
cc - current conditions (leave it as it is)
dayf - number of days to forecast
par - your partner id
key - your license key
