It was brought to my attention tonight that someone copied my entire site (apparently just a few months ago) and has it up and running on it's own domain. All the content is exactly as it was on my site when it was copied.

The name has been changed throughout the site and their own id has been placed in the code for affiliate ads I use.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded, not to mention angry, but haven't the foggiest idea how to begin addressing this issue. I'd appreciate any advice on how to deal with a blatant thief of this sort.

As an aside, traffic to my site started dropping a bit a few months ago. It may just be coincidental but I can't help but wonder if this bogus site has anything to do with it.

Thank you.

There are several things you can do in such cases. Send a cease and desist letter, file a DMCA complaint with Google so his site gets removed from the Google index. Contact his host and have the site removed. Contact the Affiliate programs and tell them about it, usually they will kick the guy out of their program.

Hi Shallow,

Have you had any luck with your copyright issue?
