how to annoy a possible long term visitor

so here I am, trying to learn about php and the ability to scale and optimize it. Why? because I might have an opportunity to buy great website and it's real large and real slow, all in php.

so I end up at the php dot net site, following the links I end up on this page ... talks.php.net/show/hpp

guess what, it does now welcome IE and tells me that I need to use another browser...

this upsets me to a large degree.

I hope that the rest of the people at Webmaster World know that this sort of stuff makes people upset and spread the bad news of a site. and it makes a visitor leave and rarely come back.
