What fonts do you use when creating PDFs for distribution?

I've always used the "basic" fonts, i.e. the ones that come on most people's computers (PC or Mac), but in reading some of the license agreements for the fonts, argh!

There are a lot of restrictions on any kind of embedding of fonts, such as what would occur with a PDF, unless you don't embed the font at all, in which case, wouldn't you lose the value of formatting a PDF, if a substitute font will cause unexpected changes in the appearance of your article?

Fonts may be one of those overlooked things where people are unintentionally infringing...
