What do I do about stolen articles?

I recently did a search for my name in the major search engines and found several websites that have taken some of my articles from directories and stript the links out. One in particular stole 11 of my articles with not one link from the signature block. I have tried contacting the webmaster and its host with no response. If i cant get ahold of the webmaster or his/her provider what can I do? I tried a whois lookup and he has everything blocked. I'm sure this guy has stolen most of his content from other authors like myself. Can I get some advise? Thanks in advance.

You could send a c+d to the hosting company and the website owner. If they do not respond then legal action may be the way forward if you feel you are loosing sufficient revenue to justify this action.

Another thing you can do is file a dmca with the main search engines. A dmca will alert search engines to copyright infringement of your work and they will remove instances of copyright theft from their index. This can take some time but it does work.

I have no reason to beleive these sites are profiting so much from my articles as most have recently been posted but in the long run they could. I am very interested in reporting them to google yahoo etc. how could i do that? and Thanks for the advice

Poke around Google and Yahoo to determine each site's specific policies and contact info.
